Tian Yi is a Shanghai-based cross-media artist born in 1992. She holds a BA from the London College of Communication (2018) and an MA from the Royal College of Art (2020).
Her work explores the relationship between ecology and its derivatives, employing 3D technology, organic media, and biological materials to examine shifting balances in ecological systems through an interdisciplinary, tech-informed lens. Since participating in projects at Tate Modern in London in 2018, she has presented a solo exhibition, “Interwoven Passageways,” at LINSEED in Shanghai (2023) and undertaken a residency in Tokyo (2025).
