In his book Vie et mort de l’image, Régis Debray proposed that the gaze serves as a medium for the transmission between the mental image and the material picture. He believed that the gaze is not merely a tool, but a force that integrates the body as a whole. The title of the exhibition, "Gaze," refers to the connecting gestures made by the invited artists between reality and imagination, manifestation and concealment, presence and absence. Starting from the perspectives of individual experiences, social structures, and cultural contexts, their works explore how the gaze, as an action, can connect those seemingly disjointed existences and experiences.
